Treggena Charity Football Tournament Returns for a Third Year

After two incredible years of football, fundraising and community spirit, we’re proud to announce that the Treggena Charity Football Tournament is returning for its third year and this time, it’s set to be bigger and better than ever.

Taking place on Good Friday, 3rd April 2026, at Wellfield School in County Durham, the event continues to grow into something far more than just a football tournament. It has become a day that brings together local businesses, families, and the wider community, all for a shared purpose — raising money for a great cause.

From a Small Idea to a Growing Community Event

What started as a small football event between a handful of local teams has quickly developed into a recognised annual event within the North East. Each year, more teams, more supporters, and more local businesses get involved, helping to create a real sense of community around the day.

What to Expect on the Day

The tournament will feature 12 teams competing in a 7-a-side format, with each team allowed up to 10 players for substitutions. The format ensures fast-paced games, plenty of action, and a competitive but enjoyable atmosphere throughout the day.

But the event is about much more than just football.

Visitors can expect:

• A full day of football from 10:00am to 3:00pm

• Local businesses and stallholders
